Where we work

The work done by the team that I work with centers on areas that are important areas for birds whether it be for breeding, migrating or overwintering in Canada’s Arctic region. Because much of our work is on common eiders (Somateria mollissima), which is an important subsistence hunt species for many communities in the north, our work is often based out of communities where local eiders nest in the summer, or overwinter on open areas of water.

Blue pins show where we do or have done work in multiple seasons throughout the year, and the pink pins indicate where we do mostly summer work during the breeding season.
